The overall goal of the comprehensive behavioral health services that are delivered at Nova Behavioral Health is to assist a client in their recovery journey. We strive for quick and effective access to assessment and treatment. The diagnostic assessment that is completed is thorough and clinically sound and becomes the basis for the overall treatment journey while an individual is at Nova Behavioral Health. The use of evidence based and best practices aides in the delivery of effective and cost efficient services.
All treatment services are provided to adults experiencing substance use disorders and/or mental health issues. Nova Behavioral Health has residential, programs, withdrawal management services, medication assisted treatment and outpatient programs as well as transitional housing. To access services clients must have a current comprehensive diagnostic assessment with appropriate treatment recommendations. Level of care placement for all alcohol and drug programs are based on the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
Assessment & Referral
Diagnostic Assessments are offered at our Beckman Street location Monday – Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Both scheduled and walk-in appointments are available for your convenience.
Residential Services
Residential services include gender specific units that provide a continuum of care. Persons served may be experiencing only substance use disorders, co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders or mental health issues only. Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services are available to both residential and outpatient clients.
Residential services are intensive, highly structured, and supportive programs that provide a safe, secure and healthy environment for clients who seek recovery from substances and/or mental health disorders. The length of stay is determined by the individual needs of the client. Typically clients remain in residential services for 30-60 days.
The program uses evidence based and best practices to promote the concept of total life change utilizing cognitive behavior therapy and motivational interviewing techniques. Programming aids clients in recovery by helping them cope with emotional, social and life problems without drug use. Psychoeducation, Individual and group therapy help clients deal with issues such as co-dependency, parenting skills, relationships, housing, trauma, stress, and abuse. In addition, effective community support services facilitate successful community reintegration.
Withdrawal Management Services
Withdrawal Management services are provided as a component of residential services. Withdrawal management is a critical time to address the physical symptoms of withdrawal as well as the overall engagement in treatment. The role of medications in the process is evaluated by our medical team and determined in conjunction with the client. The length of stay is determine by the treatment.
Outpatient Services
Outpatient services offers individual and group counseling to achieve and sustain recovery from alcohol and other substances. Each client receives an individualized service plan which may include both group and individual sessions, generally on a weekly basis.
The following levels of care are offered:
- Intensive Outpatient (IOP): 9 hours of services per week.
- Non-Intensive Outpatient (NIOP): 5 hours of services per week.
- Regular (standard) Outpatient (OP): 2 hours of services per week.
As with all programs the level of care is determined by the treatment recommendations based of off the ASAM criteria and the client’s wants and needs. The typical length of stay in any given level of care is 60-90 days based on the client’s progress in treatment.
Outpatient Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services are available in conjunction with the appropriate level of outpatient care. MAT services are not offered as a stand-alone treatment option.
Transitional Housing
Nova Behavioral Health has transitional housing services available. This structured program is offered in conjunction with outpatient treatment services at our agency. The average stay is 6-9 months.
